“This piece Celebrates the abiding wisdom of earth and our ancestors. Medicine Park is near the sacred Wichita Mountains of Oklahoma which are among the oldest ranges on earth and where the Wichita’s believe their original ancestors were born. My homage to one of the last vestiges of natural grassland depicts a lone blackjack oak facing the rising sun. It is a symbol of strength and hopeful beginnings, a reminder that we are born anew every day to enjoy the gift the land gives.”
