Young bison bulls play by sparring with each other learning critical skills needed when they mature to fight other mature bulls for the right to mate. This was a common scene throughout North America when millions of bison roamed in giant herds. Now there are only about 250,000 bison located in isolated parks and private ranches. This painting shows the spirits of two young bulls sparring as they did long ago.
